SIZING GUIDE
How to Measure
Two minutes with a soft tape measure saves you weeks. Every piece is made to your measurements. Get it right and it'll fit perfect out of the box.
Radio Strap
Radio straps wear cross-body: over one shoulder, with the radio resting at your opposite hip. You'll measure from the top of your shoulder, across your chest, and down to where you want the radio to sit.
What you need: a soft fabric tape measure and the gear you'll be wearing under it (turnouts, job shirt, whatever your norm is).
- Wear what you'll wear on the job. Straps fit differently over a t-shirt vs. bunker coat. Measure in your normal carry layer.
- Pick your carry shoulder. Most folks carry on their non-dominant side so the dominant hand stays free for the radio.
- Measure from shoulder top to radio position. Start at the top of your shoulder, run the tape diagonally across your chest, and end where you want the radio to sit (typically just above the hip on the opposite side).
- Add 2 inches for adjustability. Our adjustable straps include 2–3 inches of travel, so don't worry about being to the millimeter.
Typical sizes: 40–46 inches for most adults. Tell us the number and your typical layering and we'll dial it in.
Belt
Belt sizing isn't the same as pants size: pants are cut size, belts are worn size. Always measure, never guess.
- Use a belt that already fits. Lay it flat and measure from where the leather meets the buckle to the hole you use most. That number is your size.
- No belt that fits? Measure your waist where you wear the belt. Through the belt loops, snug but not tight. Add 1–2 inches.
- Round up to the nearest inch. Our belts come with 5 holes spaced 1 inch apart, so you'll have room either way.
Tip: if you're between sizes or unsure, size up. Our basket weave belts can be trimmed and re-punched, but they can't be stretched.
Helmet Band
Helmet bands wrap the front brim of your structural fire helmet. Most helmets fit a standard size, but we make every band to spec.
- Tell us your helmet make and model. Cairns 1010, Cairns N5A, Phenix TL-2, Bullard PX, etc. We've fit them all.
- If you have a current band that fits, measure it flat. Tip to tip, including the strap or buckle ends.
- Tell us what you want stamped on it. Last name, station number, rank, badge. Whatever you want stamped.
Still not sure? Send us your measurements and a photo of what you're carrying, and we'll figure it out together.
